environmental, social and sustainability policy
Bemboka’s strategy and approach to sustainability is increasingly at the core of who we are as a business and a brand. Our team has been working hard and have made significant progress towards achieving and exceeding our sustainability objectives.
Bemboka products are manufactured only in New Zealand, Portugal, Turkey and Italy and that ensures our high commitment to achieving a sustainable manufacturing process which includes no use of harsh chemicals, low energy use, proper waste recycling and high labour standards.
Bemboka works closely with all our raw material suppliers to ensure that the materials they use are all sourced sustainably and to an independent standard.
We ensure the recyclability of our packaging and we are moving towards using EcoPure® organic additive that causes plastic to biodegrade through a series of chemical and biological processes in a landfill disposal environment.
Bemboka is a supporter of Animal Welfare organizations and ensures that there is no animal cruelty within its supply chain.
Cotton and Bamboo yarns are sourced to the highest standard. We use a supplier that is part of the Better Cotton Initiative and has the following organic trademarks:
All other yarns used by Bemboka are sourced and spun directly on site in New Zealand and strictly comply with all New Zealand legal legislation and requirements.
Bemboka towels are manufactured using organic dyes and they are certified under the highest level of OEKO-TEX® product class I standard which makes them suitable for babies and toddlers. STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has been a globally standardised, independent mark of quality for raw, semi-finished and finished textile products from all stages of production and for all accessory materials used in the process. This global certification system assures that certified products meet the strict limit values for several hundred harmful substances of STANDARD 100.
